Malina’s Puppies Have Been Born

Malina’s Puppies Have Been Born

On August 1, a beautiful litter of puppies was born at our Foundation. The litter consists of seven puppies—two boys and five girls—with both yellow and black coats. In early October, the future volunteer puppy raisers will be able to take Malina’s nine-week-old puppies home and form a lifelong friendship with the wonderful guide dogs who will one day assist people with visual impairments. The preparatory training will take place in mid-September.

The seven Labrador puppies are developing beautifully, and Malina is taking excellent care of them. During the birth, the Foundation’s Head of Breeding and Animal Welfare supervised everything to make sure that all went well. The puppies are now more than a week old, have excellent appetites, and are becoming increasingly active. Soon, their eyes will begin to open, which we are eagerly looking forward to.

We Are Looking for Puppy Raisers!

We are looking for volunteers for a truly meaningful task. In early October, future puppy raisers will be able to take Malina’s nine-week-old puppies home and form a lifelong friendship with the wonderful guide dogs who will eventually help people with visual impairments. Interested applicants will take part in a training session on September 13 in Budapest. During the session, our puppy-raising coordinator will provide all the important information they need.

We welcome applications from interested people of all ages and from anywhere in Hungary. The dog does not lose contact with its puppy raiser after being matched with a person with a visual impairment. They can continue to meet each other and even go on holiday together, while our guide dog school regularly provides updates about what is happening in the dog’s life.

A detailed description of the puppy-raising program can be found on our website, and applications can be submitted there as well.
