Let’s look at the world with puppy eyes

Week by week, the puppies show something new, and one of our puppy raisers said that it’s great to look at the world through the puppies’ eyes because every day brings an exciting discovery to enjoy together. Let’s see what Zorka’s seven-week-old puppies have done for this.

Good luck

Have you ever woken up in the morning to discover that busy little paws have been digging a tunnel under the patio slabs? Well, that is exactly what happened to our puppy host family:

They must have taken turns digging because they got deep under the foundation. This has happened before with previous litters, but it’s certain that they outdid everyone in terms of ambition. I consider it a great performance, though I’m not sure if they were working at night or in the early morning, but unfortunately, I have to put an end to this game before one of them gets stuck or we humans step into it.

– said Gizella Ménesi, and with a few larger rocks, she put an end to the illegal mining.

Running, being cheeky and lots of cuddles

The puppies have improved their skills above ground in the recent weeks as well. They are getting better at being recalled:

They are also very good at being mischievous, which was obvious to our photographer as well:

Gizella is satisfied with the lively team:

They are very-very cheeky, looking for doing something mischievous all the time. Following their noses, the puppies even managed to dig up a beef chewy stick my other dog (a Rottweiler) had hidden in the garden. None of my other dogs – not even their mother – realized where the treasure was hidden, but the little rascals did.

As we have already mentioned in previous articles, the puppies are very much human-centred. They make it a competition to see which one of them would sit on their owner’s lap first. The winning candidate then – enjoying its prime position – falls asleep in no time at all.

They mostly enjoy being with people, and they are most attached to me.

– said their caretaker.

Sunbathing with Auntie Zina

There are lots of other dogs living at the puppy host family’s house in Törökbálint. Zina, one of our retired breeding dogs also lives there. Zina had puppies 4 times but is no longer in the breeding programme. Now that Zorka’s puppies are a bit older, she enjoys playing with them as their Auntie Zina. All the fun, none of the responsibilities!

Last week, we wrote here about Zorka’s puppies.
