In August, we celebrated the birth of seven puppies and gave names to eight others, while helping the development of the bigger ones. At the end of the month, two of our pairs successfully completed the traffic safety exam.
Puppies – seven new lives and eight new names
Malina’s seven puppies were born on the first day of August. There were two boys and five girls in the litter. The puppies were born healthy and are developing well with their experienced mother caring for them.

An important event has arrived for our other litter: Azúr’s eight puppies got names. Our foundation’s “name giver”, Feta, named puppies of the P litter this time by choosing suggestions from our followers. The following names were given to our eight guide dog puppies: Pengő, Platán, Parázs, Pele, Pityke, Pille, Pilis and Pitypang. We thank everyone who contributed their name ideas!
Training starts as early as puppyhood
Puppies from litter N have been going to physical therapy since they were small. Dr. Biksi Otília a rehabilitation specialist veterinarian, says the exercises help the puppies with motor coordination and the development of their body awareness and postural reflexes, creates the foundation for healthy movement later on. It is especially worthwhile to support the development of puppies at this age, since the fast growth in this period of time may temporarily affect their movement coordination. This is why appropriate movement and playful exercises not only make them more skilled, it can also contribute to their ability to move healthy and safely in the long term. Forty years of shared knowledge
In our foundation’s twenty years of operation one of the biggest professional successes was joining the International Guide Dog Federation. The world federation celebrates its 40th year jubilee this year, and we joyfully take part in the program. On our Facebook page we shared information, our clients’ experiences, and our trainers’ insights. We believe that an important foundation for professional development includes sharing experiences and collaboration.
Double the exams, double the joy
We had reason to celebrate at the end of the month: the traffic safety exam was successfully completed by Pál Ada Sára with Indián and Kopa Dorottya with Hámor. For Ada the exam was the “closing celebration” of their shared learning. Dorottya expressed that Hámor is the type of partner who is with her even when kindness and love is needed.
Behind this success is the work of a lot of people. The work of the litter raisers, the puppy raiser volunteers, the colleagues who trained the dogs and other specialists who helped prepare the pairs. We thank everyone for the enthusiastic work!
