Community, experiences and cooperation – our programs in July

Community, experiences and cooperation – our programs in July

Also in July a lot of our programs were about spending time together, the power of the community and promoting the case of guide dogs.

In the life of the Baráthegyi Guide Dog School Foundation not only the training of the dogs is important, but that kind of meetings what bring closer the guide dogs, their owners, our volunteers and supporters.

We were guests at a Family Day

A lot of people started to befriend with the world of guide dogs at the Inter-Mix Ltd’s Family Day. The event was held near the fishponds of Gödöllő, where people could have an insight at the growth of the puppies, could try how to getting around with a guide dog, and could meet dogs who are in training, working or retired. It was a pleasure to see their smiles and hear their conversations which bring them closer to visually impaired people and guide dogs.

Charity pilates with Réka

Réka Horváth, pilates instructor, celebrated her birthday with a charity class at the Margitsziget, and she supported the guide dogs’ training with her earning. The participants of the event not only took part in an enjoyable workout, but could hear about the work of our foundation. Alfa’s owner, Margit Kovács, was happy to join them and had an intensive workout. Nepál and Nomád – two guide dogs in train – soon wind theirs way into everyone heart. While our trainer and puppy caregivers answerd the questions, our four-legged helpers collected many pats. We’re grateful for Réka and for every participants for the nice gesture and the donation.

Báráthegyi-picnic

The greatest community program of the month was the picnic at Miskolc. The clients, trainers and volunteers of the Baráthegyi Guide Dog School had a trip with the woodland light railway of Lillafüred to the terminal at Garadna and after a nice walk they have a rest at a glade. The picnic was a great occassion to have a casual chat and share theirs experiences. Naturally, the dogs weren’t keep out of the fun: they were playing and running together happily and enjoyed the trip just like their owners.
