Darázs will soon be a mother; we are expecting the puppies at the beginning of July. The ultrasound scan shows the little ones yawning and stretching in the womb, and in recent days, their kicking has even been visible through the belly.
Darázs, our small mother dog, was born in our breeding program, from Czech and Canadian guide dogs. Even during her training period, it was clear that she was a capable, attentive, and resourceful dog. Her kindness and docility are noticeable even to those who meet her for the first time. She is passionate about people and loves to complete tasks and find solutions to challenges. She has several superpowers, including her insatiable desire to cooperate with people, her self-control, her following of rules, and her openness to new experiences. We would like to continue these excellent skills in our breeding program.
“The raising period was incredibly rich in experiences,” says Darázs’ raiser, Nadinka, who will also be raising the litter. “Watching how a cute little puppy’s intelligence blossoms, how a bond is born between us, how she begins to understand and apply the rules, how we begin to speak each other’s language… Originally, I just wanted to train dogs, or even puppies, but I got much, much more from the program. Now that Darázs’ puppies will be born with me, the picture will be complete: I can follow the development of a small group of guide dogs from their conception.”
Darázs is in a comfortable position
As the birth approached, the little “wasp’s nest” (the birthing box where the puppies would be born) was already built, and Darázs didn’t need to be convinced that this box was a safe place. As soon as the owner put the stuffed giraffe in it, which she had been sleeping with since the first moment, she knew that this was her new place, and she slept peacefully in it until morning.
