The Activity at Borsó’s Puppies is Increasing – the First Two Weeks Have Flown by

Borsó’s nine puppies are thriving and have changed a lot in the past two weeks. The little group is becoming more active, louder and more curious day by day, while Borsó is a caring, routine mother who looks after them during their first, very important stage of life.

Melinda Leidgeb, Borsó’s owner, is following every moment.

The first week: eating, sleeping and snuggling

The first few days of the newborn puppies are calm and peaceful. At this time, they mostly sleep and eat, while snuggling close to each other and their mother. This not only gives them security, but also helps maintain their body temperature.

According to Melinda, growth is one of the most important feedback that everything is okay: “I weigh them every evening, and I can see that they are growing nicely,” she said.

As the days passed, the puppies became more and more lively. The quieter whining that had been going on was replaced by the first small sounds.

“As time goes by, they get louder and louder, and now they’re starting to make some chirping barks. They’re very cute.”

Their eyes were opened

The second week is always a special milestone in the life of a litter. Borsó’s puppies have also just started to open their eyes and ears, which is a huge change for them.

At first, they only see the world through a tiny slit and are only just beginning to perceive sounds, but more and more stimuli reach them every day. This causes the puppies’ movements and behavior to change dramatically.

“They are trying to stand up more and more often, although their gait is still wobbly and unsteady. You can already see them sniffing each other, gently nudging each other, or simply resting by snuggling up to each other,” said Melinda.

The little personalities are already showing themselves

Although the puppies are still very small, some characteristic traits can already be detected in them.

“One of the yellow female puppies is her pure mother inside and outside, kind and sensitive,” said Melinda.

There is also a male puppy with a more determined nature in the team:

“The last born black male is an alpha male who bulldozes the siblings when it comes to food.”

These behaviors may still change, but it is already clear how different personalities are forming in the small team.

Borsó’ calm presence is a stable point for everyone

According to Melinda, Borsó is a huge help in everyday life. As a caring, attentive mother, she constantly cleans, feeds, and supervises the puppies, creating a safe and calm environment for them.

The puppies are becoming more active, communicating more with each other, and getting stronger day by day. In the coming weeks, their movements will also become more stable, and they will slowly begin to explore their surroundings.
