Zorka’s puppies love it when their bellies are petted

The five puppies, born a week ago, have doubled their weight, as it should be. They have already gained more than 1 kilogram, and only one “Törpilla” has not caught up with them yet, but according to their raiser, she is only two days behind.

The one-kilo puppies barely fit on the kitchen scale anymore, it’s better to prevent them from falling out, so Gizella Ménesi, who takes care of them, says to switch to the fishing scale. The daily assessment is necessary to monitor their progress.

“It is interesting that, compared to the 6 litters raised by us so far, it was not necessary to mark these puppies, they are as unique as they look. The two biggest yellow are male and female dogs, the other two big white ones are also male and female dogs, and the smallest is a smiling little girl” said Gizella.

The team is active, they talk and explain all day and one of them, for example, makes a whining sound. Gizella and her daughter take turns sleeping with them at night, but not for long, because it
seems that they won’t need to be looked after. For the first two weeks, the infrared light above their crate is turned on so that they can move closer when they get a little cold.

Belly rubs

Gizella and her family try to enjoy every moment of their time with the puppies. This video also shows that the baby caressed in the hand feels great, and enjoys the warmth and touch of the hand. Meanwhile, the person working with the puppy relaxes almost as comfortably.

Zorka is a bit pampered

In Gizella’s home in Törökbálint, Zorka has a good life, the garden is large, and the house is dog-friendly, in which she lives with several labradors and two rotweillers. After the birth of the litter, Zorka’s life changed and so did she. Now she is more sensitive in every way, so she goes out into the garden alone so as not to be disturbed by the other dogs.

“When the dog has puppies, she changes, her fur becomes prettier, and her personality also improves, it becomes more confident. All this is true for Zorka, whose ego has grown a lot, for example, she jumps on the couch, which she has never done before,” says her owner with a smile.

Gizella has been a volunteer of our foundation for more than 6 years, during which she participated in raising seven litters. She is proud that Zina’s four litters were born to her (our dog spends her retirement years with him), and we had other mother dogs who gave birth to their puppies with her. “I gladly accept one or even two litters a year, it means emotional replenishment, and my family is such that their raising does not hinder me from doing my “civilian” work,” she said.
