Do you know which places are dog-friendly? Fortunately, there are more and more of them — making life easier and freer for people living with dogs. That’s why the Baráthegyi Guide Dog School wants to draw attention to an app called DogMap, which helps users find dog-friendly locations both in Hungary and abroad.

We’ve noticed that there are still many blank spots across Hungary on this globally used map, which already features over 750,000 locations. In reality, the situation here is much better — so our foundation would love to see more dog-friendly places added to the map.
We kindly ask for the support of every dog lover: let’s mark dog-friendly places on the map so life with dogs can become even freer.
With just a few clicks, you can mark whether dogs are allowed in a given location:
– all dogs
– only guide dogs
– not allowed
You can register here, on the website, or if you’d like to use the app on your phone, you can download it as well.

This Map Could Be a Treasure
“When getting around with a guide dog, we often take it for granted that we can enter almost anywhere with them, since this is guaranteed by law. However, more and more institutions and service providers are becoming dog-friendly — not only for guide dogs but for all our four-legged companions. The DogMap app was created to help discover these places. Not only in Hungary, but internationally too, this app could be a real treasure for dog owners, as it shows where we are truly welcome. Download it, try it out, and help others find their way!” — said our foundation’s psychologist, Ádám Balogh.
If you support this cause, please send us a message below this article or write to us at [email protected], letting us know which places you have marked. Let’s work together to help more people enjoy free and happy experiences with their dogs.
