Azúr’s puppies were born two weeks ago. Although, they are sleeping in the main of the days, they are visibly and audibly more active than a week ago.

Beside the sense of feeling and sense of smell, now their eyes and ears are also help them to explore the world. They crawl up and down in their bed like a seal, and they’re testing their voice more confidently.

Everything is fine

The puppies are grow well: they are nice, healthy and curious. They don’t eat solid food yet, they get every nutrient from the milk of their mother. They suckle a lot, so they grow bigger in the right pace: they already have the triple of their birth weight.

Azúr, the perfect mother

Azúr is experienced in puppy care, because this is already her third litter. She’s taking care of her puppies calmly, patiently and with a great attention. She feeds and grooms them regularly while watch their every little movements.

Interesting thing is that, when the mother licks her puppies she’s not only keep them clean, but licking gently stimulate their bellies what helps digestion and proper egestion. It’s necessary to the healthy development in the puppies life in the first few weeks.

Little steps for the great goal

Since 2018 the breeding program of the Foundation helps to start the training with the most likely competent guide dogs. The aim is that, all of the puppies who are born here could become a guide dog later. But we can only make a responsible decision about that, after we have the results of the anatomical and temperament tests what we make during their development.

They live their carefree puppyhood at the moment. In the next few weeks they’ll become smarter, braver and more curious day by day and we’ll continue to observe their development and report on them regularly. If you’re curious about their previous story click here.
