Ánizs Lives Freely in a Big Dog Commuity

Ánizs Lives Freely in a Big Dog Commuity

Zsuzsa lives an active life, she works, now she is just organizing her daughter’s wedding. At the same time she also pays attention to her guide dog to live free. On the International Day of Guide Dogs we mustn’t forget that they also deserve some rest and relaxation.

Zsuzsa is organizing a wedding

We have several clients with guide dogs who live in Pécs: besides the partners Dani-Kávé, Anikó-Brúnó, Aurél- Zseton there certainly is Zsuzsa Kollár and Ánizs. Ánizs has become generally known through the headline „the only guide dog who works in hospital” . Zsuzsa who works in Pécs clinic goes through exciting months since for her daughter’s request it is her who co-ordinates the organization of her wedding.

„Alexandra and Balázs will get married in autumn. We help them with everything with the mother of the bridegroom. We have chosen the location and the menu of the wedding together with the young couple, we have the master of ceremony, the DJ.”

Ánizs is considered a true member of the family. Alexandra, Zsuzsa’s daughter, is also very fond of her.

Ánizs was accepted by the vizslas

Besides her several to do-s Zsuzsa remembers that Ánizs should live a well balanced life. She had been looking for a dog community for a long time ,in the end she succeeded. They ran into a very cheerful group of vizslas several times during their walks.

„They were open towards us and accepted us. They are a cohesive team with  well socialized dogs. We go on excursions with them a lot, take part in monthly vizsla reunions. We were together with them at Easter, too. Zseton and Bruno also goes to this good, friendly society. They are also Baráthegyi guide dogs. This is a good life for them and Ánizs: they guide, support their visually impaired  owners which is a pleasure for them while they have their free life, they walk in the woods and fields with a lot of other dogs. They accomplish themselves this way.”

This year we celebrate our 20th anniversary. Over the past two decades, we have provided 222 assistance dogs free of charge.

Her favorite thing to do is play with Kotta

Ánizs’s best friend is a puppy from the Baráthegyi school in Pécs, who was much smaller than her when they first met, but has since grown into a fine young adolescent. She often meets the beautiful yellow male named Kotta; they run around, play fetch, and swim together. It’s clear that both of them get regular exercise and are well-cared for—people often tell their owners during walks, “This is exactly how a Labrador should look.”
